Pool Rules
Swimmers 12 & under must be accompanied by a paid adult (age 16+).
Anyone entering the facility must pay the daily drop-in fee or have a current annual pass/punch card. This includes patrons who will not be swimming.
All patrons are asked to shower before entering the pool area.
No running.
Anyone swimming in water over chest deep needs to pass the swim test.
Starting in the deep water, the patron must swim freestyle, arms out of the water, half the length of the pool, tread water for 30 seconds, and finish the length swimming freestyle, arms out of the water.
Lap lanes are for swim test patrons or lap swimming only.
Swimmers must stay off the lane lines unless they are in trouble and use them to get to safety.
No diving in areas less than 6 feet deep.
Dive well only in the outdoor and deep end only in the indoor.
No using the blocks outside of team practices, swim meets, or swim lessons.
Swimmers are not allowed to hold their breath during underwater swim contests.
No horseplay, i.e., chicken fights, dunking, heavy splashing, etc.
No glass containers are allowed on the pool deck.
Jumping in is allowed from the deck as long as the swimmer is jumping face forward and feet first in an area where there are no other swimmers in the water.
At the outdoor pool, we ask swimmers to jump out of designated boxes.
Swim diapers are required for non-toilet-trained swimmers.
Diaper changing is not allowed on the pool deck.
Pool toys are allowed to be used during open swims as long as they do not pose a threat to other swimmers.
Mermaid tails and fins will be allowed in less busy areas of the pool or during designated swim times.
Swimmers must pass a swim test to use the tails.
No rafts or large floatation devices are allowed during open swims. (Special event nights will allow use)
If a swimmer needs additional floatation, ie swim belt or life jacket, that swimmer must be accompanied by an adult within arm's reach and stay in an area of the pool where he/she can touch.
No alcohol or tobacco use is allowed on school district property.
One person is allowed on the diving board/jump box at a time.
Swimmers need to jump forward and swim to the ladder/away from the front of the jump box area before the next person can jump.
No inappropriate physical contact or activity. Sauk Prairie Pools are public/family facilities.
Phones or other picture-taking devices are not allowed in the locker rooms or bathrooms.
Photography/video of patrons not in your family/group is prohibited.
