Kids' Classes & Programs on No-School-Days

The Community Center hosts activities, classes and day camps on days that Sauk Prairie School District is off school for events like professional development days and parent-teacher conferences. This fall, we are offering everything from day camps for kids so that parents can still go to work, to fun and affordable activities for the whole family to attend.

Babysitter Training

Babysitter Training (October 7 No School Day)

In this American Red Cross course, teens and pre-teens will gain the skills and confidence to be a great babysitter! Learn how to care for babies and kids up to age 10, keep the kids and yourself safe, make playtime fun with age-appropriate activities, handle a wide variety of emergencies and manage your babysitting business. Includes introduction to CPR.

Participants should bring a sack lunch.

Squishy & Slimy Make Playdough

Squishy & Slimy (October 7 No School Day)

Join us for all things squishy! SPSD is off school on October 7th; come over to the Community Center and make your own DIY playdough, moon sand, and slime (borax-free) to take home.

This event will be set up open-house style; drop-in anytime in between 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. and mix and squish at your own pace!

Day Camp

No-School Day Camp (October 29 No School Day)

Designed to fill the gap for working parents when school is out of session, the Community Center is hosting a day camp for kids in grades 3-7 during SPSD's October 29th No-School-Day.

Activities include a walking field trip to the fire station, nature art and scavenger hunt around the Community Center neighborhood, and Halloween crafts and decorating pumpkins. Agenda and outdoor activities may vary depending on the weather.

Spooky or Silly Halloween Crafts

Spooky or Silly (October 30 No School Day)

Make some fun Halloween decorations and masks, and paint a jack-o-lantern!

This event will be set up open-house style; drop-in anytime between 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. and create at your own pace. All ages welcome, but projects are best suited for 4-10 year olds. Adult chaperone required. All supplies included - no carving or knives will be used.
